Frontier’s response to the COVID emergency in India

TLDR: Frontier stands with its team and the affected ones during this testing time and announces a company-wide two weeks off to help maintain its employees’ physical and mental health and spend time with the loved ones during this pandemic.

With COVID cases rising in India; the Frontier team has resolved that its employees be given two weeks leave of absence immediately with full support to help them weather these tough times as it keeps monitoring the situation in India.

A severe second wave of the COVID pandemic has hit the Indian sub-continent, increasing cases being reported every day. This development saddens our hearts as we see the rising needs for medical supplies, oxygen and COVID vaccines to help stem this growing tide. We are in full solidarity with the Indian government as it continues to do its best to control the continuous rise in the spread of the virus within its shores.

Although Frontier is a decentralised team dispersed across different parts of the world, we have a ground team operational in India, where our physical office is set up. Therefore, our decision to afford our employees two weeks leave with full benefits aligns with our values and belief system to always help maintain our employees’ physical and mental health.

With a rising need for COVID vaccines, bed space and oxygen for hospitalised persons, private corporations have stepped up in their various capacities in partnership with the government to help bring this situation under control. They’ve donated funds and continue to contribute essential medical supplies, PPEs, oxygen cylinders and even respirators. Blockchain entities have taken charge of raising donations from the global community, with several notable names like Sandeep Nailwal, Vitalik Buterin, Balaji Srinivasan, Justin Sun, and many others contributing to the COVID Relief Funds initiative. We are also doing our part.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely, support our employees with the needed help in supplies and material resources, and extend the leave if necessary. Our prayers are with all Indians at this time. This time shall surely pass.
